## What this site does
Compare collected remittance exchange rates to Bangladesh Taka (BDT) from providers including Western Union, Wise, Remitly, Xoom, and WorldRemit. Provider coverage varies by source currency. Refreshes are scheduled every 12 hours; quotes are not continuously updated.

## Public API (read-only JSON)
Free, no API key. Responses are built from a 60-second server cache and refresh independently of site deployments.

Currency codes are lowercase. Rates are BDT per 1 unit of the sending currency. Responses identify providers by name and ID; provider URLs are not included. Each rate has last_updated and stale_after times; status and best_rate describe the snapshot at generated_at. Rates are each provider's regular rate, not first-transfer offers; the possible_promotional field is deprecated and always false. Rate responses use a 60-second server cache and refresh independently of website deployments. Poll at most once an hour and reuse responses. Too many requests receive HTTP 429; wait before retrying.

## Update frequency
Rate refreshes are scheduled every 12 hours. Failed fetches can leave older quotes visible; check the collection timestamp and freshness status. Verify final rates, fees, and transfer conditions with the provider before sending money.

Providers with supported corridors include Remitly, Wise, Western Union, Ria, WorldRemit, Xoom, Instarem, MoneyGram, TapTapSend, ACE Money Transfer, Elevate Pay, nsave, Nala, MasterRemit, OrbitRemit, Rocket Remit, Paysend, e-Pocket, Bless Payments, Remit Choice, Revolut, Xe, DeeMoney, Gulf Overseas Exchange, BFC, Zenj Exchange, Commercial Bank of Maldives, and SendWave. The Commercial Bank of Maldives figure is the bank's posted BDT selling rate, since no online provider quotes MVR to BDT. nsave quotes use its paid Pro plan. Fees depend on the quote amount, sending country, payment and delivery method; an unknown regular fee is not a fee waiver. Not all providers support every currency or return a current quote on every refresh.
